RIGA (BNS) - A Council of Europe report released this week said Latvia has struggled with a few cases of aggressive nationalism, racism and anti-Semitism but admitted none are characteristic features of Latvian society in general.The report, released by the Council's committee for the fight against racism and national intolerance, said recent cases in Latvia can be explained by the low level of education coupled with trauma and injustice in the country's recent past.It also cited the poor economic situation faced by the bulk of the Latvian population, the committee said in a statement to th...
