Business leaders urge EU enlargement

TALLINN (BNS) - The bosses of some 45 large European companies called on the European Union March 4 to push ahead with enlargement to the former communist countries of Central and Eastern Europe, according to a report by Agence France Press."Negotiations with the first six candidates must not be delayed by EU officials," said Percy Barnevik of the Swedish-Swiss group ABB, referring to Poland, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Cyprus.In a report, the European Round Table of Industrialists highlighted the benefits of EU enlargement for businesses, including new markets and th...
