Prosecutor dismisses Wiesenthal call to arms

VILNIUS (BNS) - A Lithuanian prosecutor in charge of genocide trials sharply criticized a call from the Simon Wiesenthal Center to try three Lithuanians suspected of Nazi collaboration in absentia.Efraim Zuroff, director of the Wiesenthal Center's Jerusalem office, said Lithuania should begin trials against Antanas Gudelis, currently living in Australia; Antanas Gecas-Gecevicius, living in Edinburgh, Scotland; and Kazys Ciurinskas, living in the American state of Indiana.Zuroff presented documents about all three suspects to the Lithuanian Embassy in Tel Aviv.
