Ex-U.S. colonel may head Lithuanian army

VILNIUS (BNS) - A former U.S. army colonel may be at the head of a short list for the Lithuanian National Armed Forces commander's post, according to an aide to President Valdas Adamkus.Jonas Kronkaitis, a retired vice defense minister in Lithuania and former military equipment expert in the U.S. armed forces, has been mentioned as a frontrunner for the post.
