Lithuania rejects Russian criticism

VILNIUS (BNS) - Lithuanian MPs have rejected Russia's accusations of human rights violations in the country and say that they are ungrounded.The Russian Parliament sent an address Jan 13 to the Parliamentary Assemblies of the European Union, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and the European Parliament stating that Lithuania is holding political prisoners.The Russian MPs said there are 14 political prisoners in Lithuania and their number may increase to 17 in the near future.Povilas Gylys, a member of the opposition Lithuanian Democratic Labor Party and former foreign...
