WARSAW/VILNIUS (BNS) - Disregarding Polis-Lithuanians' protests and Lithuanian politicians' worries, the first Polish border guards took their quarters in a health center in the Lithuanian town of Punsk Jan. 13.The guards installed their own communications, occupied one out of three vacant flats and put their guards at the door of the building, said Punsk district's head Vytautas Liskaukas.Local Lithuanians worry that if a few dozen Polish families will settle in Punsk, it would dilute the town's Lithuanian national character.
