RIGA (BNS) - The Latvian prosecutor general's office announced Jan. 19 it will launch an investigation into the reprinting of a pro-German Word War II era book called "Baigais Gads," or "The Dreadful Year."The book, written by Latvian writer Pauls Kovalevskis, was initially published by a German publishing house in 1942 and tells the story of the Soviet invasion of Latvia and crimes committed by the Communists between 1940 and 1941.
