Conservatives expel two ex-ministers

VILNIUS (BNS) - Lithuania's ruling Conservative Party showed two former ministers the door last week for "behavior incompatible with the regulations of the party."Former Lithuanian Interior Minister Vidmantas Ziemelis and former European Affairs Minister Laima Andrikiene were expelled Dec. 30 by unanimous votes of the party's board and political council.Earlier this year, Andrikiene and Ziemelis lost their posts in Prime Minister Gediminas Vagnorius' government and subsequently became vocal critics of Vagnorius and his supporters.Alfonsas Bartkus, a member of the Conservatives board, told B...
