VILNIUS (BNS) - A Russian journalist who asked for political asylum in Lithuania has received permission to stay temporarily.Vladimir Yakovlev, a citizen of the Russian Federation who works for independent newspaper Novaya Rosiya, was ordered out of the Warsaw-Vilnius train by Lithuanian border guards because he had neither a Lithuanian visa, nor an obligatory residence stamp in his passport.Yakovlev, 49, refused to leave Lithuania and asked for political asylum, the Border Police Department announced.The Migration Department gave Yakovlev permission to stay in Lithuania until his case can ...
