NGOs push for tax breaks, other incentives

RIGA - The Latvian government needs to provide greater incentives for corporations to donate to non-governmental organizations (NGOs).This is one of the recommendations being made by various NGO representatives who have been developing proposals on how to improve Latvia's NGO-related legislation.There are more than 5,000 NGOs registered in Latvia involved in areas ranging from culture and education to health care and aid to refugees.
