Hunger strike rages on: Latvian greens continue to protest Butinge

RIGA - Environmental activists are continuing their hunger strike outside the Lithuanian Embassy in Riga to protest an oil terminal being built at Butinge, near the Latvian border.Two tents with access to electricity have been set up on a lawn near the embassy. It is here where protesters spend the night.Only one activist, Janis Borgs, has been fasting since the beginning of the protest action on July 21. He is joined by others who fast for shorter periods of time. The number of people fasting changes each day, however no more than six people have been fasting at the same time.The activists...
