Foreign minister visits India

RIGA - Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics is visiting India this week (Sept. 12-20) in an effort to build stronger ties with the country, reports LETA. Issues discussed will include how to create stronger business links between the two countries and promoting closer cooperation in education.

Rinkevics is visiting Hyderabad, Chennai and New Delhi as part of his visit. During his visit he will also deliver lectures on Latvia-India relations and will help sign a cooperation memoranda with the University of Hyderabad and Madras, linking them with the University of Latvia.

The Latvian foreign minister is being accompanied by a business delegation including representatives from the sectors of education, business consulting, transit and logistics, metalworking and the film making industry.

Rinkevics’ visit also included visiting Myanmar on Spet. 12.
