TALLINN - The Estonian police caught 11 contestants of the legendary Gumball 3000 luxury cars rally violating speed limit rules. They are applying for their arrest, reports Postimees Online.

Police and Border Guard Board spokeswoman Tuuli Harson said that the 11 speed violators were caught on the Tallinn-Narva highway in Ida-Virumaa county in north east Estonia. “There is no information about similar violations elsewhere in Estonia,” said Harson.

Postimees Online added that the police registered speeds of up to 163 km/h. During the portion of the rally taking place in Finland, Finnish police collected driver’s licences of 20 participants due to the violation of speed limits and causing dangerous situations in traffic. The competitors were caught speeding at 205 km/h. The rally that lasts for seven days, passing through 13 states and 5,000 km, started on May 19 in Copenhagen. The rally will end in Monaco with the Formula 1 GP event on Sunday.
