Lithuanian, Polish peacekeepers team up for Kosovo

WARSAW (BNS) – Poland has welcomed Lithuania's initiative to participate in a multi-national peacekeeping mission in Kosovo as a constituent part of the Polish battalion. Poland's official response to the proposal is expected soon. Polish Foreign Minister Bronislaw Geremek said Lithuanian peacekeepers would most likely go to Kosovo in a joint Polish-Ukrainian battalion. He said that currently Warsaw and Kiev were discussing the issue."I think that the countries' joint proposal will be welcomed at NATO headquarters," Geremek said.
