Russia steps up criticism of Latvia: Estonia also suffers barbs from Moscow

RIGA - Recent comments by Russian officials have raised concerns in Latvia that Moscow may be renewing its propaganda campaign against the country.And despite voters' decision Oct. 3 to uphold amendments to the Latvian citizenship law, long a point of contention with Russia, observers fear a new propaganda campaign aimed at discrediting Latvia and Estonia.Moscow has sharply criticized Latvian President Guntis Ulmanis' speech at the U.N. General Assembly. According to a Russian Foreign Ministry statement, the president's remarks were "openly unfriendly" and had "a clear anti-Russian subtext....
