New border treaty could be ready soon

VILNIUS (BNS) - Lithuanian and Russian border negotiators decided in Moscow that border demarcation between both countries still needs fine-tuning before a treaty goes into effect.The delegations, headed by chief border negotiators Rimantas Sidlauskas, consular department director at the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, and Aleksey Obukhov, Russian ambassador to Lithuania, discussed legal acts and said they would "conclude preparation of the documents before the treaty is put into effect."Lithuanian diplomats said the meeting was initiated by the Russians.
