Zhirinovsky vows to cork Baltic ports

RIGA - Political analyst Paul Goble and an oil transport analyst have pooh poohed a threat by Vladimir Zhirinovsky that if he and his buddies gain control of the Leningrad oblast and Kaliningrad, they will stop all Russian exports through Baltic ports.Zhirinovsky, leader of the ultranationalists in the Russian Parliament, was quoted Oct. 2 as he campaigned in Kaliningrad for a member of his Russian Liberal Democratic Party to win the mayor's chair.
