Mourners demand respect: Estonia Ferry survivors, relatives gather on fourth anniversary

TALLINN - Relatives of those who died in the Estonia ferry disaster four years ago have called for the memorial to be altered to protect it from being defaced. The memorial complex with a broken line, a white cross and a plaque of names commemorates those that lost their lives on Sept. 28, 1994, when the ship sank en route from Tallinn to Stockholm.For relatives of the deceased, visiting the memorial can be a painful experience, especially when they see groups of people hanging around nearby, spilling their drink and letting their dogs urinate over the tablet of names.
