The 1.5 year construction project came at a cost of 32 million euros.Around 40% of the money came fron EU support funding.

“People are searching for more and more interesting ways of spending their leisure time and exclusive entertainment. That’s exactly what offers the SNORAS Snow Arena, which will definitely become a special centre of attraction not only in Druskininkai, but in Lithuania as well, for it has no equal rivals around,” said Mayor of Druskininkai Ricardas Malinauskas.

It occupies the territory of 8 ha, within which there are equipped indoor and outdoor skiing slopes as well as the slopes for beginners. The overall length of the slopes is more than 1100 m, while the height of the hills is 66 meters.

The site also houses the largest water park in the Baltics.

Skiing is a popular sport in the Baltic states despite the few natural mountains in the three countries.
