Losing streak ends for Gulbis in Dubai

DUBAI, UAE – Latvian Ernests Gulbis looks to have put sickness and injury behind him cruising past Michael Berrer of Germany 6-3 6-4 in the opening round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. It is the first win for Gulbis since his quarter final victory in Sydney back in January with sickness and injury riddling the world no. 24 from then until now. It was a far from polished performance from the tournament’s eighth seed, allowing seven double faults and only managing to get in 62% of his first serves.
