Lithuanian air pollution monitored more closely

RIGA - Residents in the district of Saldus, just three kilometers from the Lithuanian border, have for years complained of poor air quality, which often irritates eyes and carries a foul smell. The likely source of the air pollution, they believe, is the large Mazeikai oil refinery just across the border in Lithuania.With the opening of two new air monitoring stations Sept. 4, their complaints will be backed by hard data.
