RIGA - U.S. Ambassador to NATO Alexander Vershbow urged Latvians to support proposed changes to the citizenship law and warned that the fate of the embattled amendments will affect the country's aspirations to join NATO and other Western institutions."We have made it very clear - we think the amendments are a positive achievement," Vershbow said Sept. 2, during his first visit to the Baltic states since being appointed last year.
