MELBOURNE, Australia – Estonian Kaia Kanepi overcame a jittery start on Monday to move through to the second round of the Australian Open. Seeded 20th for the first grand slam of the year, Kanepi dropped her first set to world no. 106 Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia before going on to win the next two to victor 2-6 6-4 6-3. Kanepi struggled with her serve early on, allowing Rybarikova to easily wrap up the first set by breaking her opponent on three occasions, suggesting that Australia may once again prove an unhappy hunting ground for Kanepi, who has...
