VEF fall short of upset at home

RIGA – VEF Riga have came agonizingly close to knocking over arguably the best basketball team in the Baltics, falling to Zalgiris Kaunas 54-63 in VTB action on Thursday night. To have a realistic chance of advancing to the VTB finals, VEF needed to knock over Zalgiris and with Artsiom Parahouski strong underneath the basket whilst Kristaps Janicenoks continued to hit his shot from outside, it looked as if the home side may just pull off the miracle. But instead they were left wondering what could have been with too many missed baskets and unforced err...
