Speculations swirl around ministers' future

TALLINN - The future of two ministers remained unclear Sept. 1 despite discussions by government ministers into their role in the loss of state funds after the collapse of Maapank. The liability of Finance Minister Mart Opmann and Social Minister Tiiu Aro was discussed by government ministers Aug. 31 following speculation surrounding a letter sent by State Inspector Juhan Parts to Prime Minister Mart Siimann. Parts had been carrying out an audit in July and August into the legality and effectiveness of the state keeping its money in Maapank and called attention in his letter to the minister...
