Lithuanian doctors: competent but poor

VILNIUS - - In the West, doctors are among the highest-paid professionals. In Lithuania, a doctor is lucky to make more than a bus driver. While doctors can supplement their incomes by working at private clinics, the average salary for a doctor working in a public hospital in Lithuania, the Ministry of Health estimates, generously, is around $400 per month.
