RIGA (BNS) - Emergency situations have been declared in three Latvian districts due to fires this summer. The latest district to heat up was Tukums where an emergency situation was declared on Aug. 6 following a fire in Kemeri heath.Earlier this summer emergency action was declared in Rezekne and Ludza due to the high number of forest and grass fires.Fire fighting and rescue service spokeswoman Sol-veiga Smiltene told BNS that around 60 of the president's security men departed for the fire site in Kemeri followed by approximately 500 soldiers from the Interior Ministry guard regiment.
