RIGA (BNS) - Transportation Minister Anatolijs Gorbunovs has finally agreed to be nominated as the presidential candidate from Latvia's Way. After the party's board meeting May 17, Gorbunovs told reporters that he would run in the presidential elections to be held in Latvia this summer. Although Latvia's Way had first professed its intention to nominate Gorbunovs during the general election campaign last fall, the current transportation minister has until now refused to run, citing his Communist past as a detriment.
