When I was young I was in an orphanage but conditions were nothing like this," said National Guard Srgt. Major Al Henrion.Henrion, a Michigan school teacher, describes how his eyes burned when he first toured the school's bathrooms. When he visited the Riga orphanage in April, 75 percent of the school's bathrooms did not work, there was no hot water above the first floor, and open sewers ran alongside the gym.
