For Lithuanians, it's very simple. The best Cognac comes from Cognac, the best Champagne from Champagne. When it comes to beer, there's no question about it. Birzai is the place, as John W. Brown reports.People sometimes go out of their way to drink beer. They fly to Munich, Brussels, even to Milwaukee. That's a long way to go for a beer, though, especially if you live in the Baltics. But if you ask a Lithuanian about famous beer towns closer to home, you'll hear the same answer again and again: Birzai.The word is pronounced, appropriately enough, "beer-zhay," with the stress on the beer....
