A new United States ambassador in Lithuania

VILNIUS 's On Wednesday [14. Oct] the new ambassador of USA in Lithuaniahas assumed office. Lithuanian president DaliaGrybauskaitÄ— hasaccepted the credentials from the new ambassador Anne E. Derse.

Thepress-service of the president has informed, that Anne E. Derse isworking as an diplomatist since 1981. In the year 2006 she wasassigned as an ambassador of USA in Azerbaijan. The diplomatist hasalso worked in USA's mission in EU, in the embassy of USA in Iraq, inTrinidad&Tobago and Singapore.

Anne E. Derse completed her Bachelor of Arts in French and Linguistics from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1976 and her Master of Arts in InternationalRelations from Johns Hopkins University's Paul H. Nitze School ofAdvanced International Studies (SAIS) in 1981. She also graduated withdistinction from the State Department's Economic and Commercial Studiesprogram in 1989.
