Parliament gets tough on piraters

TALLINN (Estonian Review) – The government recently approved a set of legislative amendments to strengthen laws designed to fight pirated products. The amendments, to be submitted to the parliament in a bill this fall, will introduce changes to the laws on administrative offences, copyright, consumer protection and customs. Minister of Culture Jaak Allik said the amendments would significantly curb the spread of unlawfully produced software and audio and video cassettes.
