Estonian bank head won't be charged

TALLINN (BNS) – Police said they won't charge the president of the Estonian Central Bank Vahur Kraft over a deal which led to the loss of $10 million from the now-defunct North Estonian Bank.No charges will be filed against Kraft, senior police inspector Rocco Ots said, but didn't elaborate.Police have filed charges related to the $10 million affair against top opposition politician and former president of the Bank of Estonia Siim Kallas, to whom Kraft served as deputy when the deal was concluded by the partly state-owned bank in 1993.Also charged was Kallas' former aide Urmas Kaju.
