No sanctions against Belarus

RIGA/VILNIUS (BNS) – Lithuania and Latvia decided not to join the European Union sanctions against Belarus in order to soften the influence of Belarus' self-isolation."Being a neighboring country, Lithuania is alarmed by the processes leading Belarus to increasing self-isolation. We are interested in continuing political dialogue," a high-ranking Lithuanian Foreign Ministry official told BNS.Lithuania is eager to find quick solutions to a number of interstate issues with Belarus, including border demarcation, readmission of illegal migrants and infrastructure of joint border check-points.L...
