Greens crash Butinge opening

BUTINGE/RIGA - Lithuania has tightened security along its northern border after four environmental activists from Latvia managed to chain themselves to the partially completed Butinge oil terminal on its opening day, delaying the start of operations by a couple of hours."Coast guard and navy vessels are patrolling the sea border 24 hours a day," said Sigitas Cerneckis, chief of the coast guard's border police.Cerneckis said that one vessel, the Lillian, has been dispatched from the nearby port of Klaipeda exclusively to patrol the off-shore oil terminal.In addition, Lithuanian border police...
