Russians smuggle icons, amber via Klaipeda

KLAIPEDA(BNS) - Two Russian Federation citizens were detained in the port of Klaipeda, having attempted to move icons and amber items to Germany via Lithuania.On the evening of Nov. 4, border guards and customs officials checking passengers on a ferry from Klaipeda to Kiel, Germany, detained the two and their undeclared items. The border police reported the two held are Aleksandr Vlasiuk, 33, and Michail Tinchenka, 30, who both live in the Russian Federation's Kaliningrad oblast adjacent to Klaipeda.
