Kubilius forms a new government

VILNIUS - On Nov. 5 President Valdas Adamkus signed a decree approving a list of ministers for a new government. Parliamentary approval of the government and its program is expected this week.On Nov. 2 Parliament approved one of the Conservative Party leaders, Andrius Kubilius, as new prime minister by an overwhelming majority ensured by Conservative and Christian Democrat MPs with several votes from the Social Democrats and one vote from the sole Liberal Union MP.Wasting no time, Kubilius named the ministers of his government.
