Estonian residents divided on NATO

TALLINN (BNS) - Esto-nia's citizens and non-citizens, while agreeing on the country's accession to the European Union, do not see eye to eye with regard to NATO, a public opinion poll by the Center of Sociological Research shows.According to the study, 39.1 percent of the respondents favored joining the Western military alliance, 42.4 percent opposed the move, and 18.5 percent had no opinion, Priit Alamae from the research center said.Among citizens, the corresponding figures were 54.8 percent for, 26 percent against, and 19.2 percent undecided.Meanwhile the share of opponents is substantia...
