Swedish program promotes Baltics

VILNIUS - Some are expecting the dawning of 2000 to bring nothing but trouble - ranging from glitches caused by the Y2K bug to the ultimate apocalyptic destruction. But Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia hope to make next year a positive one by launching a program called the Year of the Baltic Countries 2000.With only a month left in 1999, a number of joint projects between Sweden and each of the Baltic states are already being brainstormed and could be implemented in 2000.The initiative of the program was Sweden's, which hopes the projects will aim a bright spotlight on Lithuania, Latvi...
