Ministry prepares to attack AIDS

RIGA (BNS) - The Welfare Ministry hopes to contain the spread of HIV and AIDS by the end of 2003, according to a new action plan released July 30.Iveta Dievberna, an epidemiology expert at Riga's AIDS Center, said that information campaigns and preventive measures have already been launched to stem the spread of AIDS in Latvia.
