BUDAPEST/RIGA (BNS) – Baltic and Eastern European states at a Budapest NATO conference this week tried to make political capital out of the bombing campaign against Yugoslavia by calling for a rapid new round of NATO enlargement, the Reuters news agency reported.The countries that were left out of the first round of NATO expansion said the role in the Yugoslav campaign of new and aspiring NATO members showed the value of an expanded alliance in a world where the Cold War had given way to smaller ethnic rivalries.Conference participants noted how Hungary, which officially became a NATO membe...
