NATO general praises Latvia, Lithuania

RIGA/VILNIUS - U.S. Gen. Wesley Clark swept through Latvia and Lithuania last week on what proved to be a morale-boosting visit. NATO's supreme allied commander in Europe praised the progress of both countries' militaries and underscored the West's commitment to the region."Each Baltic state has made exemplary progress," Clark said at a news conference in Riga.
