Import and export: Butinge goes both ways

VILNIUS - Another first was achieved in Lithuania's oil sector in the last week of November when 83,000 tons of oil was imported through the country's newly built import-export off-shore terminal known as Butinge. Although a handful of tankers have received an oil fill-up at the terminal since the terminal's grand opening about half a year ago, the import of North Sea oil proved Butinge can go both ways. "We wanted to try to use Butinge as a reversible terminal - one that could be used for both export and import," said Virginija Kristinaitiene, spokeswoman for the Mazeikiu Nafta oil complex...
