HELSINKI - Besides being the site of historical political decisions, the European Commission summit in Helsinki last weekend was one of the largest media gatherings in Europe and by far the largest ever in Finland.With nearly 2,000 reporters, producers and photographers and enough electronic hardware to outfit a small city, the Helsinki summit provided a glimpse at the information superhighway as it opened up a few more lanes.More than 100 television and 70 radio network crews joined 1,000 print journalists at the Helsinki Fair Centre, a convention complex on the northern edge of town.Repor...
