Lithuania to borrow $ 21.2 million from World Bank

VILNIUS (BNS) - The Lithuanian government has decided to take out a $21.3 million loan from the World Bank to finance a project aimed at restructuring the country's health care system.

The World Bank loan will be repayable in 17 years, including a 5-year grace period, and carry a variable interest rate.

The total cost of the health project is $ 34.24 million. The Lithuanian government is to provide 9.2 million dollars, while the EU PHARE program and the Swedish government are expected to contribute another $3.8 million.
