The security police also has joined investigation of the case, Police Chief Janis Reiniks said.
Sergey Morozov, 40, was detained at around 2.30 p.m. on Feb. 17 after he threw two small bombs over the fence into the territory of the U.S.Embassy in Riga.
The embassy's security men detained the perpetrator immediately. He was found to possess one more petard.
Morozov said he was testing the alertness of the embassy's security men.
Reiniks said the security police is interested in whether Morozov is linked to any organizations or persons in whom the security police is interested.
