Estonia could face prison crisis

TALLINN (BNS) - More than half of the workers in Estonia's prisons will be dismissed by the end of 2000 if they do not learn Estonian and naturalize as Estonian citizens, the State Detentions Department reported.At the beginning of July, 933 of the country's 2,342 officials working in the prison system did not have Estonian citizenship. In addition, 189 were citizens of other countries.
