Doing away with Baltic borders

RIGA (BNS) - The Movement for a Baltic Union called on Andris Skele's government to move toward canceling border controls between Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, said Baltic Union member Normunds Grostins.Grostins believes border controls should be lifted in order to allow people to cross borders freely and in order to facilitate entrepreneurship.He said that borders would remain in place, but border control procedures could be simplified both for people and for cargo.The movement believes it would be much more reasonable to allocate resources currently spent on internal borders between the ...
