$1 million stolen in Tallinn

TALLINN - Police suspect that the three men who robbed a currency exchange of the equivalent of 15 million kroons ($1 million) in cash on the afternoon of Sept. 12 may have been part of a planned heist organized by one or more of the exchange employees.Mart Soonik, a spokesman for the Tallinn police, said the robbery, the largest in Estonian history, could have been an inside job. He said the large amount of money in the safe was unusual and the criminals' knowledge of office procedures and the location of the keys to the safe lead police to believe the robbery may have been an inside job. ...
