Latvians do not trust commercial banks

RIGA (BNS) - Most Latvians do not trust commercial banks and prefer to keep their money hidden at home, according to a poll conducted by the SKDS market research company.Only 14.8 percent of Latvian residents questioned in August believe that local commercial banks should be trusted, while 74.4 percent held the opposite opinion and 10.8 percent were undecided.It should be noted that the attitude towards the banks is closely related to the amount of monthly income per member of household.Among people with income below 42 lats ($72), only 6.8 percent thought commercial banks were reliable, bu...
